Care & Use
CARE
&USE
Earth Art granite is an investment in your home.
Basic practices will protect your investment and assist in keeping a brand-new appearance.
CLEAN UP SPILLS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE
• Wipe dry with a paper towel or cloth followed by a quick cleaning with Countertop Solutions Clean & Revitalize
USE TRIVETS & CUTTING BOARDS
• Heat- Trivets protect your countertops from an immediate
temperature change from cool to excessive heat. By
placing hot items on a trivet, not directly on the granite,
you will extend the life of your natural stone.
• Cutting- Knives will dull over time when cutting directly on
your stone. A cutting board will keep you from needing to sharpen
your cutlery, and ruining your kitchen tools.
USE COASTERS & PLACE MATS
• Coasters and place mats will protect your new tops from
food and drink spills.
CLEANING
• You can safely clean your new stone countertops with water and dish soap.
• RECOMMENDED- Countertop Solutions Clean & Revitalize is a WATER BASED solution that will not contaminate your family’s meals with solvents/chemicals.
• Countertop Solutions Clean & Revitalize is a proven cleaning and protection product that can be used daily on your Granite, Marble and Natural Stone countertops.
• Using Countertop Solutions Clean & Revitalize keeps your countertops beautiful and clean while protecting and enhancing the original Countertop Solutions Sealer application.
• Avoid using non-recommended cleaners.
• Avoid abrasive cleaners.
• Avoid acidic cleaners.
SEALING
• All stones are not created equal. It is recommended that you seal your Earth Art Granite every 2-3 years.
DON’T WORRY
Using the tools and methods above will maintain the original beauty and extend the life of your stone countertops. These simple practices will ease your mind and let you enjoy your new space with family and friends for years to come.

CAULK AND SILICONE
Clear Silicone will be used between 4” backsplash and countertops unless white quartz is being installed- in which we will use trans white silicone.
White Caulk will be used between the backsplash and the wall. It will be the customers responsibility to touch up/paint & drywall over this caulk line.
Caulk and Silicone is not a warranty item. The customer is responsible for future touch up and maintenance.
MARBLE/STONE DISCLOSURE
Natural Stone is a product of Nature and is therefore subject to all its inherent variations. Cast veining, markings and coloration of the final product may vary. The slabs arrive at our location with the face already finished and natural stone may have small pits or marks or irregularities in texture or shine therefore it is important to view your material closely when selecting.
The Calcium Carbonate, of which marble is composed, is susceptible to attack by acidic agents. Marble is readily dissolved by acids, even very dilute acids, however the actual results of acidic exposure will vary with the nature of the acid. Examples include but are not limited to vinegar, lemon juice, certain cleaners etc.
STAINING- Discoloration of marble/stone, whether general or localized, is staining. Staining may be the result of exposure to a variety of exterior substances, or to internal occlusions in the stone or structural elements.
The stone will be sealed at/by the time of install. This will help, but not prevent staining. Marble needs to be regularly maintained and sealed.
Some of the Most common types of staining and the causative agents are:
Oil/Grease
Dyes and inks
Organic stains- Organic stains are caused by direct contact with decomposing organic matter such as leaves, flowers, tea or coffee.
Metallic stains- Two major categories of metallic staining are based on either iron or copper.
General dirt, soot and pollution
Remnants
Remnants are sold as is. You are purchasing the material at a discounted cost.
If your piece is accidentally damaged during fabrication/handling in the shop….a new remnant will need to be chosen.
Wall Damage
Stone is heavy and due to size and space sometimes awkward to handle and set. CTS is very careful when installing. There is a possibility of wall damage during install. CTS can not be held responsible for wall damage during installation for this reason.
